Jacob W. Stasny focuses his practice on matters involving private equity and other business transactions, commercial litigation, and commercial real estate, serving clients in a broad array of industries, including finance, healthcare, energy, technology, and manufacturing.
Mr. Stasny received a Master of Business Administration in finance from Texas Tech University in 2005, and a Juris Doctor from Southern Methodist University in 2008.
With over eight years of experience, Mr. Stasny has represented a wide variety of clients, including private equity firms, capital managers, commercial and residential mortgage servicers, physicians and other healthcare providers, alternative credit brokers, commercial landlords, consultancy firms, technology distributors, apparel designers, insurance brokers, mobile application developers, alternative energy producers, and oilfield services companies. He has the broad legal knowledge to handle even the most complex cases and takes a focused approach to every matter. Specializing in helping businesses, Mr. Stasny has navigated numerous debt and equity finance transactions, corporate mergers, stock and asset acquisitions, project finance transactions, large-scale commercial lending transactions, commercial bankruptcies, and matters involving the formation, operation, and liquidation of virtually every type of business entity.
Mr. Stasny also conducts an administrative practice adverse to various federal and state regulators, including the Internal Revenue Service. Representing clients with respect to partnership litigation, fiduciary litigation, restrictive covenant litigation, Medicare advocacy, intellectual property protection, and consultancy transactions rounds out his deep experience base.
Demonstrating his expertise in a range of business law areas, in 2010 Mr. Stasny co-authored The Small Business Toolkit, a publication from the Texas Young Lawyers Association designed to help small business owners and officers in Texas familiarize themselves with the laws that affect the day-to-day operations of their businesses.
Active in the legal community, Mr. Stasny is a member of the Dallas Bar Association, the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers, the Texas Young Lawyers Association, and the New York State Bar Association, and is a 2009 alumnus of the DAYL Leadership Class. He is licensed in Texas and New York, is also admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Northern District of Texas, Eastern District of Texas, and Eastern District of New York.
